Explicit Content Alerts
LivingRoom uses AI-based image classification to detect sexually explicit or suggestive content in screenshots. When something is flagged, the parent or accountability partner is notified by email immediately so they can review what happened.
Email alerts when sensitive content is detected
LivingRoom already uses privacy-preserving sensitive image analysis to block creation and viewing of nudity on iPhone. Additionally, if LivingRoom's AI-based image classifier detects sexually explicit or suggestive content in a screenshot, the parent is immediately notified via email.

A parent can click the link in the email to review the screenshot in context. This ensures that a parent knows about the incident and can review the surrounding activity to understand how the explicit content was discovered.
A parent can also enable alerts for potentially suggestive content (such as revealing clothing or bikini images) to maintain awareness of borderline content before it escalates into more explicit material. Suggestive content isn't automatically blocked, but this accountability layer can help a parent remediate early.
For details on how flagged screenshots appear in the dashboard — including the ability to filter the feed to only flagged content and how sensitive images are blurred — see Screenshot Monitoring.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to enable email alerts?
Alerts for sexually explicit content are on by default. Alerts for suggestive content are optional and can be enabled in the LivingRoom dashboard settings.
Will the parent see explicit images directly?
Screenshots that are flagged as explicit are blurred in the dashboard before they're shown — see Screenshot Monitoring for details on how blurring works and examples. Screenshots that are flagged as suggestive are blurred slightly so that a parent can view details to determine if it is problematic.
Does this work in all apps?
Yes. Because LivingRoom records the full screen, the AI classifier can analyze screenshots across all apps — browsers, social media, messaging apps, AI chatbots, and more.
