Tips for Fast Recording

Before your child can use their iPhone or iPad, they need to open LivingRoom and start the screen recorder. The faster that becomes a habit, the less friction your family experiences — here's how to make it nearly instant.

The fastest way to launch

Once your child knows the routine, opening LivingRoom and tapping the record button takes just a few seconds. Watch the demo below to see the full flow.

Open LivingRoom, tap the record button, and your child is ready to use their device.

Keep LivingRoom in the Dock

The Dock is the row of app icons at the bottom of every Home Screen page. It holds up to four apps and stays visible no matter which page you're on — making it the perfect place for LivingRoom.

  1. Touch and hold the LivingRoom app icon until the apps jiggle, then tap Edit Home Screen.
  2. If the Dock already has four apps, drag one out to make room.
  3. Drag LivingRoom into the Dock at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap Done (or press the Home or side button).
The Dock stays visible on every Home Screen page, so LivingRoom is always one tap away.
